The following items are only suggestions and can be removed or added to in order to meet the needs of the signatories.

  • This signed agreement binds both members from cancellation unless accepted by the Travel Insurers (exceptional circumstances).  If I cancel outside of this exception I agree to reimburse any related losses to my exchange partner.
  • I will treat the exchange home with the utmost respect, leaving it as I found it.
  • My home insurance policy is suitable for home exchange.
  • I will have an appropriate holiday insurance policy for the period of the exchange.
  • I will have an appropriate car insurance policy for a car exchange.
  • Any accidents/breakages will be notified as soon as is practicable and will be my responsibility to make good, whether through insurance or my own expense as necessary.
  • I will leave the ‘Guest Information Sheets’ (downloadable from the website) for the benefit of my exchange partner(s).
  • I will be responsible for all bills and standard costs for my own exchange property.
  • I will not be responsible to pay for long distance or otherwise excessive costing telephone calls made from my property during the period of the exchange.
  • I will leave clean bed linen and towels suitable for the length of exchange and will ensure that any linen left for me will be cleaned before my departure.
  • I will leave ample storage space for my guests.

It is understood and accepted by both members that the exchange of homes are for the stated period only and that this is a non commercial agreement.  It is not a loan of property nor is it concerned with the giving or receiving of any type of payment.  Each member invites the other to occupy their home as a guest for the period stated in this agreement.
